“Radio is one of the indispensable forms of media in Ghana; people use it to get their news and to listen to good music. Myself, I like to come up with a killer playlist every day and my listeners love it. Sometimes I’ll get requests while I’m on air and I’ll consider it, other times I’ll think it doesn’t go with my flow and ignore it.” Osei Kwame running his morning broadcast show at Citi FM radio station in Ghana, Africa on March 24, 2017.
Heritage
"I feel that coming to Ghana was a way for myself to reconnect to my roots; the African side of my African American experience. So when I was accepted to the class, especially as a freshmen, I was shocked. It was a way to experience the African culture that I wasn't aware was a part of me." Actor
"As a kid, my father was the local drama theatre director guy and he helped me get into one of his plays. It was total nepotism, but in a tiny rural Ohio kind of nepotism, where I was little boy in one of his high school musicals. An actor who's a genuine person in real life is strangely Paul Rudd. I had a really good experience being a cow milker in a movie he was in; I lied and said I had years of cow milking experience to get myself into my first Hollywood movie. It was called Admission and I'd be surprised if anyone has seen it. Paul Rudd and I hanged out for about five days and it was a lot of fun. I saw him multiple times after that on different sets and at his broadway shows would see me and say hi every time." Director
Being a director is like being a composer; you have all of the different positions in the control room, just like a composer has a group of different instruments. It's the composers's job to ensure the instruments are playing at the right note and following the music; the same goes for the director." - Carrie Largent directing the Wednesday newscast in Franklin Hall's TV2 control room on Feb. 22, 2017.

Pianist
“I started to play the piano when I was attending an academy. By then I played hymns that I knew at the time for school assemblies and for church services. I was around 18 around that time and now I’m 48. I actually realized that music was my talent when I was young in class where I would actually compose some songs where I could play it on a flute to learn the music. You’ve seen the plastic tubes to make flutes, correct? So I used those to teach my children and my students as well at the University of Ghana. It teaches them to read the scores and since Ghana music is diverse, it teaches them to perform to anything.” Fauster Yaw Perkins playing the piano in the Ange Hill hotel in Ghana, Africa on March 24, 2017.
